It was a sunny and very warm morning when Rayen woke up. She didn't trained the last week after she felt not so well. Cannot say so bad but the others recommend her to relax a few days. She didn't liked this. She wasn't sick. And she gained some weight on too. And the last days she became sure what is with her. While she lost in her thoughts she heard the Bush moving and she heard a very familiar footsteps. As she could recognize the color of her mate's pelt she thinked again. They didn't talked much in the last week after Rayen got back to train. Only night. As he approached she got up and trotted to him and licked his face. She will tell him now. Now she is sure about. "Hello Kitchi!"
Kitchi smiled as he saw Rayen approach. He gave her a lick and greeted her with nuzzling her pelt. "Hi Rayen, sorry I was busy tonight, I had the night guardingshift." He wagged his tail. When he looked into her eyes, he saw she had something to tell him, and somehow he suddenly felt nervous. He didn't know why, so he tried to push the feeling away. "Is something wrong?" He tilted his head a little to the side.
Rayen smiled and she landed her head under Kitchi's. As he looked into her eyes he knew. He knew something she what to say. And Rayen could feel his nervousness. As he asked she chuckled. "Well, I hope you won't think that is wrong." She still smiled as she motioned and lead him to a hill where they offer went. She laid to her side and looked at him to join her. "I don't how you will react so I didn't want to tell you about this while I wasn't sure..." She sighed. "You know in the past weeks I didn't train a lot. I felt a little bad but now I find out that is not about any sickness. It is..." She sighed again. "You will be a father..." She smiled at him and waited, hoped that he will take it well....
Kitchi walked with her to the top of "their" hill. He had begun to see it like theirs, as they came there so often. When she laid down, he did so too next to her. He watched her with a little bit of concern, he absolutely didn't know what to expect. And then she said he would become a father, he just didn't know what to think. Emotions of extreme happiness rushed through his body, but also fear. Was he able to take care of a litter? Would he be a great father? He watched Rayen in her eyes. "I... I..." He didn't know what to say. He shook his fur, trying to get the feeling of fear away and let the happiness take over. "That's such great news! I... I really didn't expect that!" He was going to be a father soon! He wagged his tail in excitement. "How do you feel? Is everything alright?" He was worried Rayen would suffer from the pregnancy, he had heard some worrying stories.
Rayen first saw happiness and fear in his eyes. Just like how she reacted when they started to move. As he got himself together and wagged his tail she relieved. He is happy about. She wagged her tail too. He asked worried tone but Rayen chuckled. "I was little bit tired, but everything seems to be fine. They are move now!" laughed. She was so happy when that happens, but inside she was a little bit fearing.
Kitchi sighed, at least she was alright for now. He wagged his tail and stood up. He never felt so excited, he didn't know what has happening to him, he just was a wolf he never was before. Maybe it was the parenthood that changed him already a little? He wagged his tail and watched her belly. It wasn't really noticable, but if you knew you could absolutely see it! "And you say their moving?" He gently laid his nose against her belly, quickly pulling back as he indeed felt a movement from inside. "Rayen, I don't know what to say, I'm so happy." He licked her muzzle to accompany his words.
Rayen wagged her tail too as Kitchi got up. He seemed very happy and Rayen felt more and more happy to. As he laid his nose to her belly the pups moved. He was so excited she could see it in his eyes. "Me too!" as she licked back. "What do you think how the others will react?" She laughed. "I can imagine the other fighters head when they know it!" She didn't trained much because of the wound and now she is expecting pups so she won't continue neither.
Kitchi layed down again, smiling. "I think they would be happy for you, especially the ones you work with most of the time. I'm sure they won't be angry at you for not training for a while." He smiled at her, knowing it was true what he said. Who could blame a wolf for being pregnant? Then he watched over the valley in front of them. "Have you though of names already?" He kept looking over the valley, remembering the times they were here before, watching the stars.
Rayen nodded still smiled. She licked her mate's cheek. "You are right. They are so nice." Then she laughed. "What Ale would think? I am curious to see her face!" laughed. She looked at the sky. It was morning but the moon was still to be seen. But the stars not. She loved them. But Kitchi got her back from her thoughts as he asked. She chuckled "Well, not so many but I had an idea. Remember the first night we met? When we watched the stars. I know some start and constellation names. Sine of them are so great." wagged her tail and waited what Kitchi will think of the idea.
Kitchi startd to laugh. "I bet Aleshanee will be way surprised! I don't think she'll stop bouncing for the coming month." He wagged his tail. He thought about the stars and constellations. "That actually is a really good idea. I never thought of that. Also, I don't know any names of stars, only a few constellations. You'd have to do the thinking for that part" He smiled and gave Rayen a lick over her ears, he absolutely loved the idea of naming their pups after some of the stars they've been watching together.
Rayen laughed. "Yeah you are right." She then looked the sky. "At the last week I weren't so hyperactive neither. Changes..." chuckled. At least the others can rest a little from her hyperactiveness. Thought funnily. And about the names Kitchi loved the idea. She leaned her head to her leg and asked. "Have you heard about the star named Gomeisha? I think it's a cute name for a girl." wagged her tail and laughed as the pups moved again...
Kitchi watched the sky. "I've never heard the name, but it is a lovely name!" He watched Rayen as she giggled. He smiled too, he just couldn't stop it. Then he watched back at the sky. "I know one constellation by name that could work for a boy, what do you think of Orion? It fits our idea and it sounds a little like Olin, that way your brother won't be forgotten." He wagged his tail, hoping Rayen would like the idea. He was so bad at thinking of names, he knew now.
Rayen wagged her tail. Well at least one name found. She still smiled and look at Kitchi he indeed. Then he suggested the name Orion. "Yeah. Orion is so cute and handsome for a boy!" winked. She looked back to the sky as a lonely cloud passed by. "What do you think another boy name, Rigel?"
Kitchi thought about it. "Rigel sounds really nice too! Is it a star?"
Rayen nodded. "Yeah it's a star." wagged her tail. "Do you have other ideas? I think we need more girl names. We can choose then if we have girls." laughed
Kitchi smiled. "I don't think I know any more star names, but I know there is one star that appears to be blue. Do you know it's name? It would fit a pup with your eyes." He smiled and wagged his tail. He really liked the idea of naming their own pups. Their own!
Rayen looked at him and listened. As he told about the blue star she wagged her tail. "Let me think a minute... I heard it I think...." She looked down and then she got up her head smiling. "Adhara?"
Kitchi smiled. "I think it's wonderfull for a girl!" He wagged his tail. "How many do you think are in there? Do we have to think of more names?" He he gave Rayen a lick and watched over their backs to Rayen's belly. Somehow, he still coudn't fully believe it, even though he though it was great news.
Rayen laughed. "Well, I do not know but more than two I think. At least they move so much." smiled. "Currently I cannot find another.... But later we can think about. We will be certain when they born." She looked to her belly. She couldn't believe neither this.
Kitchi smiled. More than two? It was a large litter too! He felt a little surge of fear slip through, but it was gone againb soon enough. "So, when will they be born? Do you have any idea? And what can I do to make it easy for you?" He wagged his tail, both in excitement and in worry.
Rayen could see the fear for a moment in his eyes but that was natural. More than two pups is a big litter. After he asked again. "Well, I am not sure about but I am sure I will feel when it's time and you will be the first one who I will alert." licked his nose. "Thanks for the generous help of you dear, but I can do everything." smiled.
Kitchi wagged his tail, he was so proud to be able to call her his mate. She just seemed to be all relaxed, even in this situation where a big part of their future was put in place. They couldn't simply turn back now, not that he wanted that! No, he couldn't tell how happy he was! He never thought he would be able to get a family of his own, to get a change to make everything right his father ruined. "I will always be there when you need me. When I'm not near, just send Ale, she'll reach me soon enough." He pushed his nose in Rayen's fur, closing his eyes.
As he pushed his nose to her fur she licked his forehead. She felt so lucky to have such a great mate like Kitchi. And soon they will have puppies too. She couldn't be happier. She laughed. "Hehe! I am sure Ale reaching you soon. She faster than me too." wagged her tail. But she felt a little sorry for Ale to not go with her to make some fun. But later she can play with the pups too if they will be so hyperactive!
Kitchi opened his eyes again and watched at Rayen. He felt so extremely happy. Then he raised his head. "Do you think we have to tell our Alpha?"
Rayen looked at him ad he raised his head. She got up a looked at him. "Sure! Let's go. I hope we can find her." wagged her tail. And motioned to him to follow....
Kitchi stood up too and trotted after Rayen. Soon they entered the main camp and found their alpha. When they had told her, they got a "congratulations" and they could go already. He knew she probably was busy, that was probably the reason she didn't have the time to start a whole conversation with them. "Well, we could go and tell anyone now, if we want?" Kitchi smiled at Rayen, waiting for her answer.
They found the chieftain and got congratulations from her. Rayen was happy because she was glad for the news. As Kitchi asked she looked at him still smiling. "Of course we can tell!" She trotted to the near village. But soon she laughed. "Now I understand why I gave Damir a mothernal lecture weeks ago."
Kitchi started to laugh. "You really gave him a lecture? He's just a youngster!" He smiled and wagged his tial. "I've met him after his night shift last week. He thought being tired was the same as being weak. The poor kid didn't want to go to sleep. Once I brought him to the village he collapsed." He smiled and wagged his tail.
Rayen nodded. "Yeah I really gave him one.... But it was for his own well-being and safety. He could've hurt by a Saber or worse... Even could die if someone attack him." shook her head. "He is young and doesn't need wounds..."
Kitchi gave her a thud with his head. "Don't worry about him. I'm sure he will grow up into a fine guard. He's just young, but he survived this far! Don't forget he's from outside the valley too!" He wagged his tail. "We should start making a den where the pups can stay! I'll search for good spots when I'm on duty from now on. The dens in the village might be a bit too small to be comfortable with a litter in there too." He smiled, the fear he had felt a few hours ago was completely gone now, he couldn't wait for his first litter to arrive! There were so many things that needed to be done before they would be here though, his paws were aching to start working.
Rayen could see the fears from hours before faded and turned into excitement in his golden eyes. He was started to thinking about what they should do before the little ones arrive. She smiled widely as he told his plan to her. "You are right. Even if not in the first months but when they will be older they will running all around. That will be more harder." Laughed. She laid her head to his neck fur." What do you wanna more? Girls or boys? "
Kitchi thought a moment about that question. He never thought about girls or boys, they would be his pups either way. "I don't know, they are both perfect." He wagged his tail. "I do love to have both though, boys and girls."
Rayen laughed and licked his face. "Yeah, you are right. I wanna both of them and we will love them equal." wagged her tail. She still couldn't believe they will be parents!
Kitchi gave Rayen a lick back. "As long as they are healthy, I don't realy mind. They will get all my love, as will you." He wagged his tail and stopped walking. "We should change our plans. The village can wait. For now, we should go back to our hill and watch the stars. I'm sure they wouldn't mind if we tell them tomorrow."
Rayen nodded. "Yeah, you are right dear!" wagged her tail. As he said they can go and watch the starts she smiled more widely and wagged her tail more. "Right! Let's go now!" And with that she started to trot there.
Kitchi smiled as Rayen started to trot away, back to the hill they were just a few hours ago. He watched her for a second, and then trotted after her. They arrived at the hill together. The sun was already setting, and the colours above Spokane territory were wonderfull, especially with those mountains on the background. "I'm so glad we both found a home here in the valley. When I fled away a few years ago, I never thought I would have all this! A safe home, a wonderfull and loving mate, a litter of puppies coming soon..." He turned his head to watch Rayen again. "I can't tell how happy I am."
As Rayen arrived at the Hilton together with with Kitchi she sat down and enjoyed the sunset together. As he talked she still smiled. He looked at her with his eyes that told unbelievable happyniess. She leaned her head to his. "Neither me. After all that happened with my parents I never thought I will find someone who will love me. But I was wrong... I met my love forever..." smiled and then chuckled. "They are moving again..."
Kitch smiled when Rayen came to sit close to him. When she said the pups were moving again, he laughed a little. They were sitting so lose to each other, he had felt them moving a little too. Not that much, as their furs were in between, but he could clearly feel something moving. He licked Rayens muzzle. Then he turned his head to the sunset again and wagged his tail. He knew words were not needed now, they could read each others thoughts.
Rayen smiled and licked his nose. He could feel his happiness and she knew he felt her too. Lot of thinks are before them she knew and some won't be easy but she knew the pups are safe and they cannot wait to see them.
Kitchi closed his eyes. He felt like the world around them could crumble, they would stay together at all times. When he opened his eyes again, he looked at Rayen. "We should try and get some sleep now we still can. Tomorrow, after my shift, I'll go and fins a good den to raise them." He wagged his tail and laid down. "We could sleep here if you want? Together with the stars our pups will be named after."
Rayen looked at him and her smile got more bigger, than it was. "That would be really great. But if you wanna I can go with you!" wagged her tail and laid down next to him. "That is an even more greater idea my dear." laid her head to his. Then she looked at the sky and now somehow she felt tired. Long day after all. And so happy. "Good night Kitchi!" She smiled at him and laid her head down.
Kitchi smiled. "I love it when you come with me." Rayen however, had already closed her eyes. The pups must be taking all her energy, Kitchi thought. "Good night love." He licked her ears and laid down his head next to hers. Quickly he feel alseep
